Changes to visiting hours at Mater Dei on Thursday and Saturday

Mater Dei hospital would like to inform the public that due to the local council and European Parliament elections, the visiting hours at Mater Dei, Karin Grech, Mount Carmel and the Gozo General Hospital will be changed.

On Thursday 23 May, hospital patients will be voting in the local council and European Parliament elections and therefore the hours when one can visit will change.

On both Thursday 23 May and on Saturday 25 May, when the elections will be held nation-wide, those who wish to visit their relatives or friends who are convalescing in hospitals can do so only between 7pm – 8pm.

The Electoral Commission said that it would be issuing special permission for visits by relatives of patients who are in a critical condition.
