Check what type of gas regulator you have

The Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA) would like to draw the attention of the public that the provision of domestic gas in Malta should be LPG, that is a mixture of butane and propane.

In a statement, the Authority said that it has found cases where gas regulators which are only intended for butane are being sold along with gas heaters or gas BBQs.

Consumers who use a regulator intended for butane for their LPG domestic gas cylinders should stop using them immediately. These butane regulators should be returned to the retailer from where they were purchased. The type of gas regulator is indicated on the top of the regulator (see photo).
