Children should be taught not to use technology during mealtimes

The use of mobiles and tablets during mealtimes should be stopped.

This was stated by the Head of the UK Department of Health, Matt Hancock, in light of alarming cases of suicide by children and youths.

Hancock stated that parents should better educate their children about the sensible use of technology, whilst the social media industry should work towards the safety of children and youths.

Hancock also believes that children should take a break every two hours from using technology.

This debate arose after the father of a British girl, Molly Russell, declared that Facebook and Instagram had led to his daughter’s death because of their content.
