Chris Fearne maintains he had no involvement in Vitals Agreement

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health, Dr Chris Fearne, said the Auditor General’s Report on the Hospitals’ Agreement with Vitals, which was published today, indicates concerns.

In a declaration on social media, Dr Fearne said that at the time he was a Parliamentary Secretary for Health and he was not involved in any of the negotiations mentioned in the Report and which may have emerged before the issue of the RfP, and he was not informed about them.

He said this is clearly shown by the Auditor’s Report while he maintained he was not even aware of the existence of a memorandum of Understanding.

He added the Auditor had confirmed that the Health Secretariat (as well as the Finance Ministry) were completely left out of the issue of the RfP.
