This year’s new decorations for the Christmas period were inaugurated in Valletta with the illumination of decorative lights in the streets for the festive season.
The Chairman of the Aġenzija Kultural ghall-Belt, Jason Micallef said that they continued with the legacy left by Valletta 2018, and once more collaborated with Triq ir-Repubblika and Triq Merkanti commercial communities.
Triq ir-Repubblika is decorated with classical-style lights, while Triq Merkanti is characterised by a contemporary Christmas tree and lighting.
Mr Micallef announced that a new crib will be inaugurated in the coming weeks at Pjazza de Vallette, while for the first time Pjazza Kastilja will host a Christmas tree.
Minister Owen Bonnici said that these initiatives further assist businesses in Valletta, are an incentive for more tourists to visit Malta in the festive season, while reviving the cultural and traditional aspects of the City.
