Commonwealth countries commemorate Anzac Day – Young man arrested over terror plot
Thousands of people gathered in the streets of Sydney as Australia, together with all Commonwealth countries including Matla, to commemorate Anzac Day.
War veterans and officials who are currently serving in the Army, Naval and Air Forces took part in a parade to commemorate the 101st anniversary from the First World War, when troops had dropped into Gallipoli, Turkey for what turned out to be the bloodiest battle at the time.
Meanwhile, Australian police arrested a 16-year-old and accused him of plotting a terrorist attack which was going to be carried out during the Anzac Day celebrations in Sydney. He is expected to be arraigned today and can be sentenced to up to ten years in prison.
