Couple grievously injured after part of ceiling at their residence collapsed in Senglea

A 59-year old man and a 54-year old woman, who reside in Senglea, were grievously injured on Saturday evening after a part of a room’s ceiling of their home collapsed.

The Police said they were informed about the case in Triq it-Tarzna, Senglea, at about 10.10pm.

District police officers immediately went on site where initial investigation showed that a part of a room ceiling, where the couple were at the time, had collapsed.

Civil Protection members also arrived on site to assist, while a medical team provided the first treatment to the couple who were then taken with an ambulance to Mater Dei for further treatment. Later on, they were certified to be suffering from grievous injuries.

District police are continuing with their investigation on the accident.
