Court accedes to Repubblika’s request for inquiry into transfer of three hospitals

The Court of Magistrates has acceded to Repubblika’s request for an inquiry into the transfer of three hospitals to the company Vital Global Health. The civil society requested the inquiry to determine whether there was criminal complicity by Ministers Edward Scicluna, Konrad Mizzi and Chris Cardona in awarding this contract which is the subject of another pending court case filed by Opposition Leader Adrain Delia, who on his part, has requested that the contract be declared null and void.

In response to the decree issued by the Court of Magistrates, the ministers said in a statement that the Court did not enter into the merits of the case and had only referred the allegation to the inquiring magistrate. While describing the allegations as speculative in nature and politically motivated, they said they would be appealing for the decree to be reviewed.
