Cristiano Ronaldo bursts out crying during interview

Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo burst out crying during an interview with Piers Morgan when talking about his father, who used to drink, and who never had the opportunity to see him become a star.

The Juventus attacker, 34, said that he barely remembers his father, Dinis who was a soldier and died in 2005 at the age of 52.

Ronaldo said that his father was an alcoholic and he never had a conversation with him like sons usually have with their fathers.

He was shown a video in which his father was interviewed before Euro 2004 in Portugal. As soon as he saw the video and heard his father talking about him, he burst out crying.

When he was asked why he is so sad when he thinks about his father, Ronaldo said that his father never had the opportunity to see him develop as a footballer and to see how much success he achieved.

During the interview, the Portuguese football start also spoke about his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez.

The Piers Morgan interview with Ronaldo will be broadcast tomorrow.
