Culture and traditional cuisine during activity involving different embassies

On Saturday, TVM will be transmitting its road show from Ta Xbiex during the World Cup match between the third and fourth placed teams. For this event, 13 embassies have joined forces to organize a cultural activity which includes cuisine, art and entertainment. The activity is being organized by the Ta’ Xbiex local council, where various embassies and consulates are located.

Each embassy will be providing a cultural and culinary experience featuring traditional food from their respective countries.

Among the countries taking part are China, the UK, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Egypt and Spain.  Max Zammit, the mayor of Ta’ Xbiex said that the idea behind this initiative is to give a taste of the many countries which have diplomatic representation in Malta.

Max Zammit said that “through this event, different cultures, entertainment, food and drink from the respective countries will come together. In the past we have had people preparing such items as Spanish sangria and the unique Italian mozzarella right there, in front of the public.”

President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, who will be the patron of this activity, said that these events are importnat, because the Maltese need to appreciate cultural diversity and appreciate human dignity as well as our differences.

This event will be transmitted by TVM during its World Cup road show.
