Customs Officials seize cocaine worth €200,000 at Malta International Airport

Late yesterday Customs officials intercepted a passenger at the Malta international airport who was carrying two kilograms of cocaine.

The passenger landed in Malta on a flight from Brussels, and was stopped by Customs officials after going through the Blue Channel. He was ordered to pass his suitcase through the scanner, which detected two suspicious packages.

Cocaine was found inside the packages valued at some € 200,000.

The passenger was arrested by the Drug Squad and taken to the Police General Headquarters for questioning.
