Damage to cables leads to power cuts

Enemalta plc has stated that power cuts in the past hours resulted from damages to some high tension cables forming part of the distribution network.

Enemalta said in a statement that yesterday and early this morning, the damage affected various localities both in the north and in the south. At the same time, some localities in Gozo were also hit.

Enemalta added that whilst power has been restored, Enemalta plc workers were and are still on the job to ensure this damage is repaired with the least possible delay.

Enemalta does not exclude short interruptions in certain localities when repairs are being finalised.
