Death of I. Ming Pei – mastermind behind Louvre pyramid
The architect I. Ming Pei,who created the famous pyramid at The Louvre, has died at the age of 102.
Pei is renowned the world over for the pragmatic and artistic structures he created. His work is distinguished from that of others through his use of the elements of geometry and light in his creations.
The Chinese architect was born in Guangzhou in 1917, and had emigrated to the United States when he was 18 years old. Pei continued working even in his old age, and created one of his most celebrated works – the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, Qatar.
