Denies stealing €500 earmarked for charity

Mario Farrugia, 49, from Santa Venera was charged with stealing monies intended for charity, from two shops in Ħal Qormi.

He was accused of stealing slightly less than €500 which were collected for Puttinu Cares and -Inspire, among other charities.

Farrugia pleaded not guilty and bail was requested. He was also charged with recidivism. He was granted bail subject to a €500 deposit and a personal guarantee of €7,000.
