On the eve of her voyage to Rotterdam, Maltese singer Destiny won this year’s OGAE prize, a poll among 43 European Song Contest fan clubs world-wide. This is the first time that Malta won this competition since the award started being organised.
Destiny won 363 points during a continuous competition with Switzerland. It was the last fan club that voted in favour of Destiny during the competition and handed the victory to Malta with the song Je me casse.
Switzerland won 358 points, five less that Malta, while France was classified third with 318 points.
Reacting to the result, Destiny said that the award was a perfect start in her life on this voyage.
The final result included 3,522 votes from 43 fan clubs of the Eurovision around Europe, Australia and the rest of the world.
