Discovery of World War II bomb leads to evacuation of beach in Marsaxlokk

The discovery of a World War II bomb led to the evacuation of a number of people who were enjoying the beach known as Tal-Magħluq in Marsaxlokk this morning.

A spokesperson for the Police told that the Police received a report on the possibility of the presence of an explosive in the area at around 11.30am.

District Police went to the scene, assisted by the Armed Forces of Malta, in order to close the beach until the necessary checks are made
