Do not eat these broad beans because they contain high level of pesticides

The Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority has warned members of the public not to eat the product “Peeled broad beans” produced by the brand ‘Mill-Kċina taz-Zija’ which comes in packages of 450g.

The lot number is CA26419 and has the expiration date: 30.09.2021.

This product has been withdrawn from the market since it was found to have a high presence of Benzalkonium chloride residue, which is over the permissible maximum level of pesticide.

Consumers who have purchased this product are being asked to return it to where they bought it from.
