Doctors’ Association also appeals for mass activities to be stopped

The Malta Doctors’ Association said that an increase in the cases of Covid-19 is a result of the mass events which are being held which it described as irresponsible.

It said that the greediness of the few is placing the health of the population at risk, and is risking that all the sacrifices made by health care professionals will have been for nothing. This is apart from the economic and social effects.

In a statement signed by Dr Paul Cassar and Prof Stephen Fava, the doctors’ association said that for this reason it was uniting with the Malta Medical Association and others in an appeal to stop all mass activities, where social distancing cannot be kept. It also appealed to the Government to limit the travel from high-risk countries.
