Prison guards in Dorset have discovered that drugs, cigarettes, and mobiles were being trafficked into the prison HMP Guys Marsh by using dead rats.
It appears that the dead rats were filled with packets of drugs and cigarettes and were being thrown into the prison yard from the outside.
From the investigation carried out by the prison guards and the police, various illegal substances, including cannabis had been hidden inside the rats.
Also found were mobile chargers and sim cards, with the prison guards believing that someone inside the prison was meant to collect the rats and sell the substances and other items to the prisoners.
In the past, traffickers have also used drones, tennis balls and pigeons to traffick drugs to prisoners.
