Easing of measures announced for establishments’ owners who accept only vaccinated persons

Clubs, bars and restaurants owners, who allow persons to enter their establishments with the vaccine certificates, may apply from tomorrow to reduce the distance between tables to a metre outside and a metre and a half inside the establishment. The measure comes into force from the weekend of next week.

At the same time, the persons on a table will rise to a maximum of eight persons in such establishments. These establishments will be permitted to remain open till 3.00am.

Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister, Chris Fearne, said that these establishments may start offering their service from a bar, including by placing a perspex between the barmen and clients.

Dr Fearne said that protocols for this service will be published in the coming days. He remarked that the whole staff of establishments are obliged to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

The Minister added that if the easing of the measures does not have a negative effect on the health system, they will be used even during weddings.
