Economist Karm Farrugia dies

The death has been announced of economist Karm Farrugia, at the age of 87. Farrugia died on 2 November and his funeral was held two days later.

Farrugia is a well-known face, and for many long years took part in the media to discuss subjects such as finance, the economy and business.

Born in Cospicua, he studied economy and political science at London University and also qualified as an accountant and auditor.

Among the occupations he held, there were those of University lecturer, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank and a director at Malta Shipbuilding.
