Efimova says that she was not Daphne Caruana Galizia’s source of information – PL

The Labour Party (PL) said that the only new element that emerged from the report issued by David Casa’s delegation is that now Maria Efimova is saying that she was not Daphne Caruana Galizia’s original source of information.

In a statement issued this evening, the PL is saying that during the past couple of months, Efimova was considered to be the source of the Egrant story, namely after she went to Court and testified in front of the Magistrate leading the magisterial inquiry.

The PL is saying that when Efimova testified from an unknown location, the woman said that she was not Daphne Caruana Galizia’s source of information.  In the statement, the PL says that this means that there has been a new twist to the story that consisted of a lie about the Prime Minister and his family.

It adds that in view of the recent developments, the PL is saying that the Prime Minister reiterates his declaration that he will resign if this story turns out to be true.  The PL is saying that until today Dr Busuttil hasn’t presented any proof about this issue and apparently after this declaration it is going to make it more difficult to prove it.

Moreover, the PL said that there are various points in the rest of the report that were explained and denied a couple of times.
