Elderly couple threatened with knife in their residence in Tarxien

A thief ended up empty handed today from an elderly residence he tried to rob at Tarxien.

The case occurred at around 12.30 pm when the Police were informed about a robbery at a residence in Triq Sqajjaq.

Paola police officers went on site when they were informed that an unknown person had entered a residence while an elderly couple, aged 70 and 69, were inside.

The victims alleged that the hooded man armed with a pointed instrument bound them, while he searched the house. The thief escaped empty handed.

The elderly couple were unhurt during the theft. Police investigations are ongoing.
