Elderly man who shot and injured another person in Xewkija denied bail

An 87-year-old man from Xewkija was arraigned in Court in. front of Magistrate Dr P Coppini charged with shooting and causing slight injuries to a person in the same village.

The incident happened on 7 October when the two men had an argument in Triq is-Salib, Xewkija at around 10:20am.

The elderly man was also charged with causing damage to property and of having a weapon in his possession without the necessary licence from the Commissioner of the Police, as well as other charges.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him. He was not granted bail.

The prosecution was  led by Inspector B.C. Spiteri.
