Electoral register published in Government Gazzette

The Electoral Commission notifies the general public that the revised Electoral Register for General Elections and for Local Councils as well as the European Union Electoral Register have been published in the Government Gazette of 30th April, 2021.

Any person who had the necessary qualifications to be registered as a voter on the closing date 31st March, 2021, and whose name has not been included in the respective register has up to Friday 21st May, 2021, to appeal to have his name address or particulars corrected in the respective Electoral Register.

The attention of the general public is drawn to the importance of verifying their inclusion in the Electoral Register. Failure to do so may result in the loss of a person’s entitlement to vote when General and Local Council Elections, and Elections for the European Parliament or Referenda are held.

It is also notified that a Revising Officer may order the inclusion of a person’s name, or the correction of the designation, address or other particulars or the cancellation of the registration of a voter, notwithstanding that no prior application may have been made to the Commission.

All the registers may be viewed at the Electoral Office online by visiting www.electoral.gov.mt, fis-sezzjoni “Pubblikazzjonijiet” u jagħfas il-buttuna “Nista’ nivvota?” jew il-buttuna “Fittex fir-Reġistri”.

The registers shall be made available for sale as hard copies from the Department of Information. Besides this, one may check if one is registered as a voter in these registers through the online facility in the Electoral Commission’s website, www.electoral.gov.mt, under the ‘Publications’ section and by pressing either the ‘Can I vote?’ or the ‘Search Register’ buttons.
