Ends up in Court after threatening and harassing woman

A 40-year-old man from Rabat, Gozo has been arraigned before Magistrate Paul Coppini and charged with threatening and harassing a 22-year-old woman.

It was stated in Court that the man had made the woman fear the use of violence against her, and also threatened her with a mobile phone.

Accused was also charged with having stolen a mobile phone from an outlet in Republic Street, Rabat on 30 August, to the detriment of this same woman, and with having committed an offence against her decency.

The man pleaded not guilty and was released on bail, subject to a number of Court-imposed conditions.

The Court also issued a protection order for the woman.

Inspectors Josef Gauci and Bernard C. Spiteri prosecuted.
