Government Scheme to guarantee 50% of property price extended to persons aged over 30

During a media conference, the Minister for Social Accommodation, Roderick Galdes, said the waiting list for such accommodation has been halved over the last three years.

Minister Galdes mentioned how the social accommodation allocation has been increased by a little more than €40 million to continue promoting among others various incentives and Housing Authority schemes reaching out to various categories of people that need support to be able to become home owners.

Regarding Equity Sharing, that so far has been open and available to persons aged over 40, said this year wil be extended to those aged over 30 where the Government will guarantee a maximum of 50% of the property of the property loan value.

He also announced the launching of the study for the design of a Care Plan that will offer a programme of support and specific services for those who apply for social accommodation.
