EU leaders agree to increase production and distribution of Covid-19 vaccine
During a virtual meeting yesterday, EU leaders agreed to increase the production and distribution of the Covid-19 vaccine.
The President of the European Council Charles Michel said that they are fully supporting the efforts of the European Commission which is working tirelessly to identify the obstacles in the distribution and production of the vaccine. He also said that he was asking pharmaceutical companies to honour the promises they have made.
These comments were made following internal criticism the EU is facing because of its joint purchase of the vaccine. However, the President of the EC Urusla Von der Lyen said that EU countries are in a good position because by the end of summer they will have vaccinated 70% of the population.
