Facebook photo lands man in Court

A man who made abusive use of Facebook faced court action and was fined €8,000.

Dominic Savio Micallef from St Paul’s Bay was found guilty of uploading a photograph of his former partner in bed with another man two years ago. The incident followed the end of his relationship with the man.

The Court upheld the proof presented by the Police Cybercrime Unit that Micallef was responsible for uploading the man’s picture on Facebook.

Magistrate Anthony Vella condemned the abusive and vindictive act on Facebook as retaliation to hurt somebody.
