Although the WHO has warned that the pandemic has not ended, the Czech Republic has still thrown a grand symbolic ‘farewell party’ to the coronavirus.
Thousands of guests sat around a 500 metre table on the Prague bridge on Tuesday evening and shared food and drinks which they had brought from home.
The guests were urged to share with their neighbours and no social distance was kept. In the Czech Republic, a country of 10 million people, there were less than 12,000 infections of Covid-19 and 350 people died.
The party organisers said that the celebrations were possible because of a lack of tourists in the city.
