Video: Tribute paid to Dun Karm Psaila on the 150th anniversary of his birth

This morning, tribute was paid to the National Poet, Dun Karm Psaila, on the 150th anniversary of his birth.

The Minister for National Heritage, José Herrera, representatives of the National Holidays Committee, the Maltese Academy and other organisations paid tribute to the poet with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Poet’s memorial in Floriana.

In recent days, Festivals Malta, in collaboration with the National Holidays Committee and the Maltese Academy have commemorated the National Poet with various activities. Last week, Heritage Malta inaugurated an exhibition about Dun Karm Psaila at the MUSEUM building, in Valletta.

As part of the activities commemorating the National Poet, a commemorative evening with the theme ‘Open Your Heart to the Word of Peace’ was also held in Valletta at the main hall of the Archeology Museum.

October is linked to the birth and death of the National Poet. He was born in Zebbug on October 18, 1871 and died in St. Julian’s on October 13, 1961.
