Fire at St Joseph’s fireworks complex warehouse at Ħal Għaxaq

A fire broke out in a room in one of St Joseph’s fireworks complex warehouses at Ħal Għaxaq. Members of the Civil Protection and of the Armed Forces Explosive Ordinance Disposal were called on site to control the fire and monitor the situation.

The fire started some time after 1.15 this morning when an explosion was heard and smoke emerged from the room.

The Police confirmed with TVM that at the time of the accident no fireworks were being manufactured and no persons were on site.
