In St. Petersburg, Russia, a firefighter lost his life and two others were seriously injured while trying to put out a large fire that engulfed a historic factory.
The fire quickly spread to the whole factory which was built on six floors. Strong winds continued to disrupt the work of firefighters. The factory was built in 1841 to manufacture fabric and the building was considered a historic site in St. Petersburg.
Forty people were evacuated from the factory as soon as the roof of the building collapsed. The cause of these fires is still unknown.
