First Coronavirus death in Europe

A Chinese female tourist died in France after she was infected by Coronavirus. She became the first person to die outside Asia as a result of the deadly virus.

The victim is an 80-year old woman from Hubei. She arrived in France on the 16th January and was placed in quarantine shortly afterwards.

Only three deaths have been reported outside China since the coronavirus spread – in Hong Kong, the Philippines and Japan.

The virus has already left over 1,500 persons dead.
