Five correctional officers were appointed as supervisors at the Corradino Correctional Facility. Interior Minister Michael Farrugia said this is the second group of supervisors that were appointed as part of changes in the prison management.
The Minister stated that he had just been presented with the report he requested for the prison design brief. The report will be evaluated to draft a working plan in order to address the structural shortcomings in the Corradino facility building.
During this year, the Corradino Corrective Facility will also become an agency. Minister Farrugia added that a decision was taken so that prisoners’ food will be supplied by a contractor, with a varied menu that changes daily.
