Hunting federation, ‘Federazzjoni Kaċċaturi Nassaba Konservazzjonisti’ filed a judicial protest against Birdlife Malta.
Speaking to the media outside the Court’s building, FKNK president Joe Perici Calascione said that the judicial protest is intended to stop Birdlife from resuming with actions, which he described as unjust against members of the Federation.
He referred to the petition presented by Birdlife for the withdrawal of hunting licences issued by the Gozo Ministry for the quail season, claiming it had no legal power to do so. Mr Perici Calascione expressed appreciation that the Police did not consider taking action against hunters.
He did not exclude ulterior legal action against Birdlife’s chief executive Mark Sultana, President Darryl Grima and Birdlife Malta on the false report filed against 6,000 hunters.
