Foreign Affairs Minister Evarist Bartolo meets Commonwealth Secretary General Baroness Patricia Scotland

Malta’s participation in the Commonwealth was discussed at a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Commonwealth Secretary General Baroness Patricia Scotland.

Minister Bartolo spoke about Malta’s natural vocation as a major proponent in the small nations community.

Minister Bartolo emphasized the link between good governance and the rule of law, as well as the need for strong structures to be able to address complex challenges of a global nature, especially for small countries.

Baroness Scotland praised Malta’s efforts and said that through its strong institutions, Malta could continue to make a positive contribution.
