Former Maltese-Australian boxing champion, Jeff Fenech, is recovering in an Asian hospital, allegedly suffering from lung and heart complications.
Fenech, who is 55, was at a training camp in Thailand, when he was taken to hospital urgently after he fell ill with pneumonia.
Later it was reported that Fenech was also suffering from an infected heart valve, and will be operated tomorrow. It was also reported that his daughter was expected to get married on Saturday.
Fenech represented Australia at the 1984 Summer Olympics, and in 2002 was featured in International Boxing Hall of Fame. He also trained Mike Tyson when the latter came back after his retirement.
