Formula 1 driver Bianchi dies nine months after Japan crash

French Formula One driver Jules Bianchi died nine months after being seriously injured during the Japan Grand Prix last year.  He did not recover from head injuries sustained during the crash.

The 25-year old driver had been in a coma since October.  He died in a hospital in the vicinity of his parent’s home in Nice, southern France.

Bianchi is the first Formula 1 victim of a Grand Prix since Brazilian champion Ayrton Senna died in the Imola circuit in Italy in 1994.
