France at a standstill in largest strike over these last 25 years

France today is at standstill in what is being considered the largest general strike in almost 25 years, and at this stage it is not known when it will end.

Millions of workers are expected to strike against the Government’s new plans for pensions, where some will have to retire later or else receive a lower pension.

The strike is expected to affect flights, the Metro, schools, the Courts and even hospitals. Opinion polls have shown that 69% are in favour of the strike.
