France: Bus driver clinically dead after masks argument

In France, a bus driver was left clinically dead following an argument on the wearing of masks on board a bus in Bayonne.

The 50-year old driver suffered serious head injuries after he refused to let some passengers on board the bus because they were not wearing masks and had no tickets to travel. The persons then assaulted the driver.

Five persons were arrested in connection with the assault. In France, the use of masks on public transport is mandatory in order to contain the coronavirus pandemic.

Many drivers are now refusing to work on buses following the tragic incident.
