A British businessman, who in his youth was brought up in social housing, is today the richest man in the United Kingdom and tops the Sunday Times Rich List.
Jim Ratcliffe, who established the Ineos company, is estimated to be worth €23.9 billion. Two other directors of this company are also on the list of the richest persons in the UK.
65-year old Ratcliffe was brought up in a council house in Failsworth before his family moved to East Yorkshire. His father was a carpenter while his mother worked in an accounts office.
He studied chemical engineering at the Birmingham University and graduated MBA from the London Business School.
Apart from the Duke of Westminster, Ratcliffe is the only person born in the United Kingdom who topped the list of the richest persons in the country.
