German injured in a traffic accident in Buġibba

A 55-year old German national was injured in a traffic accident at around 1.30 pm in Dawret il-Gżejjer Street, Buġibba.

Police said that the accident happened when a 38-year old Polish driver lost control of her vehicle and crashed on the pavement.  At that time, the German was on the pavement with his wife and it is yet unclear whether he was hit by the car or he fell when he tried to avoid the car from hitting him.  The woman driver was accompanied by a Polish passenger in the car.

The German was taken to hospital in an ambulance where it seems that he did not sustain serious injuries.  No other persons were injured in the accident.
