German police have arrested 10 persons suspected of planning a terrorist attack.
The arrests were carried out during various raids by some 200 police officers in Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate.
The men were planning to cause as much casualties as possible with the use of arms and vehicles and targeting people who do not adhere to the Islamic state philosophy.
The ring leaders behind the attack were two brothers – a 21-year old from Offenbach and a 31-year old man from Wiesbaden.
The other suspects are aged between 20 and 42, some of them are German citizens.
During the raids, German police confiscated some €20,000 together with an amount of knives, drugs and electronic equipment.
