Germany to start administering the AstraZeneca vaccine to people over 65

Health officials in Germany have reversed their decision about the vaccine developed by Oxford-Astrazeneca and are now recommending that it is safe to be given to anyone over 65 years of age.

The decision was announced after health authorities in recent weeks denied comments in Europe that the vaccine was only 8% effective among the elderly.

This decision also follows the step taken by the French authorities who started administering this vaccine to people aged between 65 and 74.
