Gianluca starts his adventure in Georgia

Gianluca Cilia’s adventure in the Georgian capital Tbilisi has kicked off, and our young ten-year-old ambassador will be representing Malta in the Junior Eurovision.

Gianluca’s charming smile, much admired by young and old alike, stood out when he greeted admirers who had gone to the airport to wish him luck.

Gianluca admitted to being excited, as he will be meeting with contestants from other countries. “I’ll be making new friends… but when this experience is over and it’s time for the final, I’ll start focusing more on the festival itself.”

And what are Gianluca’s views on the songs being interpreted by the other young singers? “Well… obviously, I like my song, but in truth, I like them all.”

Gianluca said he is hopeful that with his song ‘Dawra Tond’  Malta will be presenting the best possible package for the final on 26 November, which will be broadcast live on TVM from 4.00 p.m. onward.

Gianluca will be competing with 15 other countries for the best song in the 15th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

The festival final will be held at the Olympic Palace in Tbilisi, and for the first time ever, the Maltese will also be able to vote for the Maltese song.
