Girls say they were beaten up in London for refusing to kiss each other

A lesbian couple are alleging they were beaten up by a group of youths on a bus in London after they refused to kiss.

28-year-old Melania Geymonat said she was with her partner on a bus to Camden Town, when a group of about four boys started pestering them.

Geymonat added that the boys ordered them to start kissing, and even started throwing coins and making obscene gestures.

Although initially the girls tried to treat the matter as a joke, the group persisted in annoying them, and the whole issue suddenly escalated and they came to blows.

Both girls ended up with bloodied faces, and had to be hospitalised for treatment. Before fleeing the scene, the boys also stole their bag and a mobile phone.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan described the attack as disgusting and misogynist, and added that the Police are investigating the matter.
