Goverment to ‘reverse’ Bulebel land scheduled for development in 2006

Government has made a commitment that it will not allow development in the zone known as Wied iz-Zring in Bulebel. Government said in a statement that it will ensure another 25% of the land also identified fo development will likewise not be used.

Government stressed that all this means it will be withdrawing what had been given by Nationalist Governments in 2006 and 2009 for a study on industrial development.

Government added that it had now become known  that a Nationalist Government had even handed over to Malta Industrial Parks a tract of land for development larger than that included in the development one of 2006.

It was stated that Economy Minister Chris Cardona and Environment Minister Jose’ Herrera will be committed to revise what preceding administrations had done, in order to safeguard the heritage of the southern part of Malta.
