Government signs €2 million social agreement with Fondazzjoni Nazareth

The Government has signed a two million euro social agreement with Fondazzjoni Nazareth which will cover 29 beds for persons with disabilities.

This amount is 624,428 euro more than the sum originally agreed upon between both parties.

The service will be provided from three Fondazzjoni Nazareth homes in Żejtun – Dar Nazareth, Dar l-Arċipriet Degabriele, and Dar Madre Tereża.

Minister for Inclusion and Quality of Life Julia Farrugia Portelli, who was present for the signing, said the Government is recognising the services being provided by Dar Nazareth.

President Emeritus Marie Louise Coleiro Preca remarked that through this investment the Foundation will be in a position to continue providing a better quality of life to these residents.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry for Inclusion and Quality of Life Matthew Vella praised the foundation for continuing to boost the skills and capabilities of its residents in order to enable them to achieve their aspirations.

Aġenzija Sapport Chief Executive Ruth Sciberras stated that through this agreement disabled persons residing in one of the homes run by a non-governmental organisation will receive a service of the same quality as that provided by the national agency.

Four similar social agreements were entered into in May and June with Fondazzjoni Wens, Dar il-Kaptan, Fondazzjoni ALS Malta – Dar Bjorn, and Fondazzjoni Arka, with a total value of 15 million euro.
