Gozo Chamber of Commerce welcomes economic regeneration plan

The Gozo Chamber of Commerce also welcomed the economic regeneration plan announced by the Government yesterday which it said was crucial to the industry.

The Gozo Chamber said that it was important for the Government to maintain the payment of the wage supplement to workers in the tourism sector and praised the voucher system which would help domestic tourism given that Gozo depended on tourism.

It also welcomed the payment of utility bills and business rents as well as the tax deferment. It described the economic regeneration plan as one that incentivizes the economy to continue moving forward even in these difficult times.

It noted the infrastructure projects that were being carried out in Malta and said that infrastructure projects should also be carried out in Gozo so that the island continues to attract new industries.
